HOW TO APPLY OUR TRANSFERS

see the difference

Note: All heat presses vary in terms of temperature and pressure. Below are general guidelines. If this is your first time ordering with us, we recommend ordering a few extra designs for use in determining optimal temp, time, and pressure for your press (including wash tests!). A household iron will not work with these transfers on worn apparel.

  • PRE-PRESS

Press the garment for 5 seconds (prior to applying your transfer). This step removes wrinkles and any potential moisture trapped in the fabric from shipment.

    1ST PRESS

Press according to specific fabric temps and time at medium pressure with image in proper placement.  Each heat press does vary and some experimenting may be necessary for optimal results.

    PEEL HOT

Immediately after your heat press releases- remove your transfer film. Do not remove your garment from the platen(think of the time savings!) IF you didn't immediately pull your film, wait until it's completely cool to pull.

    2ND PRESS

Cover with a Teflon Sheet (for shiny look) or parchment paper (for matte look) and press a 2nd time according to specific fabric temps and time, medium pressure.

Note: Firm and even pressure is important for good adhesion, avoid any pocket/seem/buttons/zipper/etc. within the press.

  • Tips:

Water Resistant, Waterproof, and fireproof garments:

We recommend testing a sample on your item before production. Water resistant, waterproof and fireproof garments may not accept heat transfer application.

    Heat Press Calibration:

It's recommended to verify that your temperature is correct on your press. An infrared (IR) temperature Gun can be used to ensure that your press is heating to an accurate reading.

    Troubleshooting:

    Incomplete Transfer:

If you notice areas of the design not transferring fully onto the substrate, it could be due to insufficient pressure or temperature. Increase the pressure slightly and ensure that the temperature is within the recommended range. Repress if needed.

    Color Fading or Bleeding:

Color fading or bleeding can occur when the ink is not properly cured or when the substrate is not compatible with the ink. Ensure that the substrate is suitable for DTF printing, and reach out to us if you need more assistance.

    Uneven Prints:

Uneven prints can result from inconsistent pressure or improper alignment of the transfer film. Make sure to apply even pressure across the entire surface of the substrate, and ensure that the film is aligned correctly before pressing.
